4 Easy DIY Vegan Face Care Recipes

This week I wanted to share with you homemade vegan face care recipes I have been making and testing at home.

I have seen a lot of homemade face care recipes that include non vegan products and just ingredients I could never sit with on my face (raw egg being one of them).
Which has prompted me to share this article with you.

All the below DIY face care recipes are easy, cheap to make and vegan friendly!

(Win, win and WIN)

Disclaimer– Some of these recipes include essential oils and it is important to ensure you dilute them properly. In cases of super sensitive skin types I would advise using less than the recommended amount in case of any irritation. Please check the essential oils are safe to use if you are pregnant or have any medical conditions before using them.

4 Easy DIY Vegan Skin Care Recipes

DIY Face Scrub #1

I adore this easy to make face scrub. It is quick and simple, it can be used for all skin types and it works!
I have dry but clear skin, only really suffering from the odd blocked pores and/or black heads, and this scrub really loosened up and unblocks them. My skin is left feeling really refreshed and thoroughly clean after.

Ingredients:

Coconut Oil 1 tbsp
Granulated sugar 1 tsp
Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp

Method

You quite simply mix it all together to make a paste and scrub away. It will make your face slightly yellow and it does wash and wipe off instantly, however the yellow colour from the turmeric will come off onto your towel when you dry your face (it does wash out but just a word of warning!)

DIY Face Scrub #2

Ingredients:

Coconut Oil 1tbsp
Pink Himalayan Salt 1tsp
Essential oil:
Lavender for regenerating skin.
Frankincense for a youthful look. Oil is brilliant for ageing skin.
Tea Tree for acne prone skin, I would advise not using if your skin is very sensitive.

Method

Mix all the ingredients together and you have your face scrub ready to use! Add more salt if needed but use 1tsp as a guide.

DIY Lip Scrub

A lip scrub is something I have never used up util this year when I started making my own vegan lip balms and scrubs. Since using it I never get dry lips and my lips always look soft.

Ingredients:

Granulated sugar 1 tsp
Coconut oil 1 tbsp
Peppermint oil 1-2 drops

Method

Mix all together and use. Add peppermint oil to give your lips a little plump and refresh!

DIY Face mask #1

I love charcoal in beauty and self care products.
This face mask is for someone who wants to invest a bit more money as some of the ingredients are not ones you usually have sitting around your house.

Ingredients:

Charcoal powder
Aloa vera
Tea tree oil (face mask can be made without this if you prefer)

Method

Mix all ingredients together and add Tea Tree oil if you desire. This face mask can be used and made without it. All ingredients have wonderful benefits for the skin so it is a nice investment.
